LF M SERIES Metal Hot Zone
Centorr's Series LF Top Loading Multi-Purpose furnaces are available with a high temperature vacuum or controlled atmosphere Refractory Metal Heat Zone. With a Refractory Metal Heat Zone, this vertical furnace is used for high vacuum heat treatment of metals and ceramics, reactivity studies, and small scale sintering studies.
A typical furnace is made up of a double-walled, water-cooled 304L stainless steel chamber with water-cooled, hinged lid, hot zone with high tungsten mesh element with tungsten and molybdenum sheet heat shields, a power supply, temperature sensor, controller and over-temperature controller with hot zone interlock.
This Metal Heat Zone furnace has (3) vacuum pumping systems to choose from: Roughing Pump, Turbo Molecular Pump, or Diffusion Pump.

Operating Temperature: 2000°C (3632°F) in vacuum, 2000°C (3632°F) in Argon, Nitrogen Gas, or Forming Gas.
Operating Pressure: 2 PSIG (0.14 KG/SQ. CM) positive pressure to 10-3 torr vacuum or 10-6 torr vacuum (dependent on model selection)
Ultimate Vacuum: Standard Roughing Pump Model - 10-2 to 10-3 Torr (chamber clean, cold, empty and out gassed). Diffusion Pump Model - 10-5 to 10-6 Torr (chamber clean, cold, empty and out gassed). Turbo Molecular Pump Model - 10-5 to 10-6 Torr (chamber clean, cold, empty and out gassed).
Heat Up Time: 21°C to 2000°C, Approximately 176 minutes
Cool Down Time: 1600°C to 100°C, Approximately 19 minutes
